Here is the note that I sent with Nicole to school this morning. It read:
"Dear Mrs. Johnson,
Nicole came home from school yesterday just raving about your spaghetti and how it was better than 'Dad's AND Mom's!' :-) Since she's just a tiny critter (at the lowest rung of the growth charts, when she's even on them), I'm always in search of recipes for food that she'll eat! Is there any way I can get the recipe from you? (And so many of those family dinners are just 'cooking' and not from a recipe card, but if I could at least get a list of ingredients from you... I can mess around with the quantities, if you don't have them!) :-)"
I received the same note with writing at the bottom when she got home from school. It gave me a real LOL moment!!!! It read as follows:
"Thank you this is really funny. It isn't the way I normally make spaghetti. All we did was brown the hamburger with salt and just used tomato sauce on it and the noodles. Isn't it funny how something so simple is a child's favorite. Have a good week-end. Carol Johnson"
We had gone up to the school to drop off some paper for the teacher (because the teacher is crazy short on paper because they don't have books in Kindergarten and EVERYTHING is done from copied sheets), and the teachers were saying how a few of the kids had gotten tummy aches (Nicki included) because they ate 2 servings of the spaghetti each!!! I thought that was SO funny when I read it. Kind of like the kid playing with the box at Christmas time, rather than the toy! LOL
Also, she then said at recess how she a boy named 'Joseph' (saying his name with true disdain) chased her around calling her 'Sweetie Girl!' She said he would put his hand on her arm and she took off running. She is freakishly fast, actually, and was able to outrun him! LOL
I tell ya... I don't know what my life would be like without her. No... it's definitely not the most glamorous job in the world, but it HAS to be, BY FAR, the most rewarding!!!!
