Alligator Pie!!!!!

This is so cute! I'd never heard of this classic poem before, but really enjoyed Nicki's drawing of an 'Alligator Pie'! LOL

We had issues with Nicki, already NOT trying to do a good job in school... so the teacher and I discussed what options there were and apparently, she gave Nicki some 1st Grader work to do today! She made some mistakes, of course -- like capitalizing a word in the middle of the sentence and stuff like that, but she was actually trying! She was giving a darn about the work AND, best of all, she only got one warning today for talking (instead of 3 or 4 warnings & pulling a card). She said she feels like a big girl doing big girl work!

Here's the work they have been doing up 'til this point... and as you can see, especially on the purple coloring sheet, that she wasn't even trying:















And now, here is the work that she got today, and she's so excited about it! Even though she missed a few things, it's obvious that she's really trying! And to me, that's what really matters!
