One GROOVY Weekend!!!!!

The reason I'm late in posting about Halloween is this... my weekend was a blur! In a good way, don't get me wrong, but today was officially 'clean-chores-clean' day for me after spending the weekend in Texas! Yes, Texas!

Saturday was Jason's Mom's birthday and for a birthday surprise his Dad few Jason, Nicki and myself out for her 60's-style birthday party (they really are IN COSTUME in the picture... that's not their everyday attire)! It was a blast! There were a ton of people there, including family and friends and it was so good to see everyone... even if for a short while. It was awesome!

The plan went off without a hitch!!! We got to the neighborhood and texted Jason's sister to let her know we were there. Then Jason called his Mom and to wish her a Happy Birthday and all. Then he asked her if she'd received our present yet and when she said 'no', he told her to go look on the front porch... Maybe they'd left it there... We had Nicki already in place, pressed up against the front door, so that they couldn't see her out the windows next to the door and when the door opened up... there was Nicki, looking straight at Grandma! Then Jason and I came out from behind the bushes and stood next to Nicki. It was really neat! She was definitely surprised and the tears didn't stop for a while! I think his Dad did a really GOOD JOB on that birthday surprise. She was able to have all four kids there to celebrate... that's not something that happens all the time when kids get older and move away. It seemed like it meant a lot to her and Dad that we were there and it sure meant a lot to us to be given the opportunity to be there, as well!!!!
