Back at Home!!!

I was a little concerned about our flight home... We got to the airport and they WERE able to get Nicki and I sitting together (that was a huge problem that couldn't be resolved before getting to the gate) but right before we were about to board, they came over the loud speaker and announced that our plane was having maintenance issues and they would let us know within an hour what was going to happen. They came on the loud speaker once again about 15 minutes later, and announced that they had taken our previous plane out of service and that we would have to transfer terminals and gates from D34 to C4. So, we darted to the airport shuttle train and rode that for a while until we got to our new gate. We had about 10 minutes to wait before the plane boarded and we were off! The flight was nice and smooth until the end when the Captain came on the speaker and said we were going to prepare for landing early, because we might hit some turbulence coming into the airport. Luckily, we had very minor turbulence... nothing more than we'd experienced before -- just some minor bumps and all, so that was cool! Jason was waiting at the airport and Nicki was so excited to see him that her eyes welled up with tears and she was just beside herself with excitement. We walked out the airport to the parking garage in 77 degree weather, with a slight breeze... it was FANTASTIC! We had a great trip to Texas, and it meant the world to me to be able to see Brad again, but it WAS nice to be back home, too.

Jason said that he had a surprise waiting for me when we got home. When we got there, to my very pleasant surprise, he'd finished our patio!!!! It was awesome! There were only 15 more pavers that needed to be laid, but he managed to finish it while we were gone! That was so nice to come home to!
