We decided to camp out last night and had ourselves a great adventure!!! We set up the tent and the air mattress in the front room of our house! That's our idea of 'roughing it'!
Nicki suggested that we watch a scary movie but that we didn't have any 'appropriate scary movies' for her, so, I mentioned Pooh's Heffalump Halloween and she was like, 'yeah!!!! That'd be perfect'! So, we ate dinner and then we cleaned that mess up so bears didn't come into the 'campsite'. Then we got the air bed all ready inside the tent and got the movie set up and all... and then we told scary stories... She made one up about a bear that comes into campsites and cuts a hole in the tent (and when she was telling that part, she took her finger and ran her nail along the tent fabric to make a cutting sound-- it was so funny!) and then I read 'The Big Toe' to her from our scary stories book and then we read the Berenstain Bear Book "In the Dark" to diminish the 'scariness' of it all!
Then we made smores (and ate them in the kitchen, so we didn't get ants in our tent)... and watched the movie!!! It was great fun! The movie didn't end 'til about 9, so I'd say we didn't get to sleep until about 930 or so and of course Jason woke us up when he came home at 630!!! So, our day started early, but we managed to take naps earlier in the day and both were feeling much better afterward.
