1st Day of Gymnastics!!!

During this summer, we enrolled Nicki in gymnastics at The Little Gym (I put a link to her gym under my links area). Today was her first day!!! I don't know who was more excited, me or her! She was really nervous at first, but they had the kids do different stations, such as the balance beam, uneven bars, parallel bars (but they are only about 18" off the ground) and tumbling on the mats. Nicki was not too sure about the uneven bars -- in fact, a high pitched squeal came from the room when the teach lifted her feet off the ground to put them on the bottom bar... (Keep in mind that ALL the equipment is scaled down to kiddie sizes!) And the first time that one of the teachers was teaching her how to do a somersault, she picked up Nicki's back end and her legs just went straight out like a cat not wanting to go into water... but by the end of class, she was tumbling like a pro! It was really nice that her friend, Jocelyn was in the class and really showed her how to do all the different stations! It was fantastic!
The picture I'm including with the post is one I took right before we left for gymnastics. I was just about ready to click the camera, when she threw up her arms and said, 'I am a winner!'. It was really funny!!!! So, that was the one and only picture we took today, and I think it worked out just fine!
