What a Day!!!

So, it starts out with the power going out around 7:30 this morning... not normally THAT big of a deal, but I hadn't had a shower yet, it was 30 degrees outside and it didn't come back on until almost 2PM! I could've taken the car to go somewhere;however, Jason was sleeping (so, I couldn't disconnect the garage door and get the car out) AND, I wasn't about to take a shower in frigid (not just cold, but freezing) water!!! Ugh... Nicki's theory about how the power went out was that maybe an 'underground beaver or worm chewed through the wires'! Jason said, 'yeah, you know how those underground desert beavers can be'. LOL

It was, honestly, a pretty nice day without technology or heating (although, the house was down to 60 degrees, so it was quite chilly). Nicki has her 'book-in-a-bag' that she has to do every week, so she read her book and did her homework. The book prompted a discussion about jealousy. I tried to explain what that emotion is, so the talk went something like this:
-Me: Has there ever been someone who had something that you really, really wanted?
-Nicki: (looking down at the ground, speaking softly), yeah, Walmart. They have blah, blah, blah... that I really, really want.

That was pretty much how it went! LOL That response completely took me by surprise!

Now, I think she's beyond tired... I'm not sure why though, but she's freaking out on me because I wouldn't let her have ice cream for dessert (because she didn't eat her dinner) and therefore she told me she wouldn't have the 'energy I [she] need[s] to complete her dance show and is going to be fired and will never be able to dance again... EVER!' DRAMA QUEEN!!!!!!

OMG... this is shaping up to be a long night already! Yeah! Jason's at work and I've got a little girl who is about to have every privilege known to her taken away... I sure hope she's calmed down in the shower... Is it bedtime already? :-) Here's hoping tomorrow is a better day!
