Every year, the day bef
ore the Balloon Fiesta starts, the schools participate in a 'Balloon Aloft' event where they launch hot air balloons from the various schools. Nicki and I got there, bright and early (in the chilly weather) and were greeted by her friend from Mrs. Fox's class last year, Elijah. He gave her a big hug and then we went to get some hot cocoa. (Which was super yummy AND helped warm us up!) We watched as they rolled out the balloons, started blowing them up and eventually got to see one fly overhead. 
It kinda took them a while to get going this year, but it was a lot of fun, nonetheless! Definitely one of the events I look forward to this time of year! Can't wait to attend the actual Balloon Fiesta next week! It'll be a blast!
