The Bus Accident...

So, now that things have calmed down just a wee bit, I can finally be a good mommy and catch up on some of the blogging that I have failed to do. This first one was really crazy. This happened a week ago Tuesday... I dropped Nicki off at the bus stop and apparently, one of the middle schoolers who was waiting for her bus with her clarinet case in tow, accidently bopped Nicki with it. Nicki was probably running around a bit, plus because she's so small, the girl probably didn't see her... but whatever the circumstances... Nicki got hit in the mouth with the girl's clarinet case....

About 5 minutes after I dropped her off at the bus stop, the doorbell rang and outside the front door stood a whole BUNCH of kiddos, encircling Nicki, who was bleeding quite a bit. Apparently, Nicki told the kids that she's not allowed to cross the street by herself, so they walked her back to the house. That was so sweet of them!!!
The accident had split her lip on the inside and then due to swelling, the outside of her lip split as well. :-( Poor baby, she was really shaken up. So, we got the bleeding to slow a bit and then took her up to school to have the nurse check it out and she didn't think that it would need stitches, so after a bit more of applying ice, she was able to go to class that day. That was some craziness to start the morning.
