Brad Charron: 11/27/1968 - 5/29/2009

Bradly Derrick Charron... the epitomy of the phrase 'carpe diem' or 'seize the day', has finally lost his battle against the insidious disease called Hepatitis C. A little over a year ago, he was given the chance at life by receiving a new liver; however, this disease was so strong with him that it destroyed his new liver within the past year since receiving it. He was a fighter... someone who was as stubborn as a mule and we wouldn't have had it any other way! :-)

He gave 'em Hell coming into this world and he went out the same way, which seems quite fitting. He fought his last 20 minutes of life. Not breathing, but then coming back and struggling for a breath. The nurse even commented that he was one of the most stubborn patients she'd seen. That's my brother!

I'm proud of him for fighting, against all the odds, so many times to cheat death. From the hundreds of car wrecks over the years, to his crazy antics, Brad has literally cheated death so many times... But this time... it was time for him to go to a better place. He can finally relax.

I sent him a text message because everyone said that his voicemail inbox was full, and finally got a text message back from him on May 27, 2009 at 2:59 PM that I just couldn't decipher. It said, "Lin I". I finally realized yesterday morning that "Lin I" = "Lov U". My other brother told me yesterday that Brad had gotten a new phone and was too tired to learn how to use it so 1) he hadn't texted ANYONE 2) didn't know how to text AND in the past few days, he's been very confused anyways. And yet, somehow he managed to send that message... It means the world to me...

Rest in peace, Brad... Lin I, too.

I am so sorry to hear that he passed, but elated that he got one last chance to tell you how he felt about you. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family here and in NM.
