So, yesterday after I picked her up from the bus stop, we went to the library and she got some books to read (She's currently reading the "Katie Kazoo Switcheroo" series), plus some random other ones... and I got some kids books about star watching and hockey for us to learn together... She enjoyed going to the library. The parent-teacher conference went well... She's doing fine, except the teacher and I both feel that because she is smart, she's getting a big head about it. At home, we've been trying VERY hard to keep her humble... but it's very hard when people are always doting on her. One of the tests was a blank sheet of paper and the kids are asked separately, to write as many words on the paper that they can, just off the cuff. She had the number 44 circled on the paper. I said, 'is that good? What's normal?' She said, '4 is what they are expected to do and 10 is considered proficient.' LOL That was pretty funny! This was all spoken very quietly, so she couldn't hear and bolster her ego even more... but that was pretty cool to see where she's at!!! I'm proud of her and glad that she thinks highly of herself... we just have to keep it 'in cheque'.
Now then, this morning started with Nicki having her 'morning cup of coffee'. She said that all she needed was a newspaper. How old is she again? LOL
Then later, Nicki and I set out on a journey to find a telescope. We live out in the middle of nowhere and could have a beautiful view of the stars and some planets... but alas, our journey was in vain.
So here is Nicki in her 'tankini' saying 'SPRING BREAK!!!!' and a picture of the pretty little car, now that it is clean! :-)
Hopefully, tomorrow will be a success as well!
