Nicki's 1st Fight!!!!!

Nicki comes home and says she got pushed down at the playground, so after digging deeper... here's what I THINK is the full story, as best as I can make it out! :-)

At 'lunch recess' (the recess after lunch, as opposed to the one in the morning), Nicki said she was playing by herself and a girl that she didn't know came up to her to ask if she could play 'Kitty' with her (seems to be a popular game at school, for some reason). Nicki replied, 'sure!' and the girl led Nicki further into the playground. Nicki said, 'Meow. Meow.' The girl looked at her and said, 'Bad Kitty!' and pushed Nicki so hard that she fell to the ground! When Nicki was on the ground, the girl said, 'Play like you're dead' and Nicki shouted 'No!' The girl, then proceeded to throw sand all over Nicki, even getting it in her mouth. Nicki got up and then ran as fast as she could to one of the 'duties' (the people that watch the kids during recess), but before she could get there, the girl caught her and led her to a slide and then pushed Nicki down the slide. After Nicki got off the slide, she ran even faster over to one of the duties and told her everything that had happened. She said that the girl was forced the sit in 'time out' during the rest of recess, after apologizing to Nicki for all that.

That's so interesting how kids and people react when in different situations. I told her that she did a good job by telling the duty. I told her that it sounded like the girl just took the game a little too far and that she probably wasn't a mean person, but that you should never push someone down. That's just not nice at all. Nicki agreed and seemed rather triumphant -- and I think she did great. She even has a small bruise on her arm when she was pushed down, so she's even got a war wound from her first scuffle. I'm just glad she didn't push the girl back or hit her or something... That could've been bad! LOL
