Mrs. Fox's Class!!!!

Oh, this turned out really well!!!! Nicki is just ecstatic about her new teacher, Mrs. Fox! She hasn't stopped going on about how wonderful she is - yet!!! They still did 'calendar' like in Ms. Turner's class (where they review days of the week, numbers, months, etc.), except, the teachers participated, unlike Ms. Turner's class. I'm not saying that Ms. Turner isn't a good teacher, BUT, this teaching style seems to be more conducive to learning and suits Nicki much better!!!!

Jason asked her if she made a new friend yet and she said, "No. I didn't make just one friend... I made a BUNCH of new friends!!! And there is this girl named Abby, and we have the same coat and the same color eyes!!!! She is my new best friend and I think she likes me because she kept giving me hugs all day long!!!!" They have all different kinds of 'centers' (or stations) for the kids to rotate activities at... they have a puppet theatre, play-doh center, sand table (with real sand!!! She added!), art center (with paints!!!), and a few more (but I think my brain shut off in the middle of all this talking, so I honestly can't remember)!!!

They have an overhead projector, which Nicki thought was the COOLEST thing ever... She said, 'They have an overhead projector, but it isn't for movies. It's for showing us how to do stuff!' LOL Gotta love it! I mean, it's not like that's the newest in technological advances, but it impressed the heck out of her!!! It's a peanut-free classroom, so no worries there and both Mrs. Fox and Mrs. Lanham (her teaching assistant), seem very, very nice!!! I think this is going to completely change the way Nicki feels about school and learning --- in a positive way!!!
