Bonnie & Clyde

Well, I got a call from Ms. Turner this morning at 8:20 A.M., right as school started... When I saw 'RRPublicSchools' on the Caller ID, my first reaction was... 'OMG - what happened?' So, I picked up the phone, all calm-like and it was Ms. Turner. She explained to me that Nicki and Gabriel (the boy we went to the Balloon Fiesta with) were out playing in the puddles this morning and now she's soaked. Well, no harm, no foul, right? Not exactly. It's now 47 degrees outside and rainy... and having soaked clothes is no bueno. So, I went up to her school and brought her a new change of clothes and had a little talk with her. I hope she never commits a real crime, 'cause for 1, she'll rat 'em out in a heartbeat.... I asked her...

'So, tell me what happened...' She replied, 'Gabriel started it!'
I was a little shocked by how easily she cracked, but whatever...
I had to do the 'Mom talk' with her about how 'If someone else is doing something bad, does that mean you can do it too?'
To which she replied, 'No! I will NEVER do anything bad again! I promise, Mom!'
I told her, "Don't make promises you can't keep. Just try to be good for me, okay?"
And she promised she would try.

You know, I don't really care that she got in trouble like this or if Gabriel really DID start it... She's got an equal stake in the blame, as far as I'm concerned. I just really thought it was cute that she and Gabriel were having fun together and all. I mean, little 'romances' at 5... that's just cute! LOL

And to top it off, I feel totally initiated into motherhood today... being called up to school for my little 'trouble-maker!' LOL So, I had to post a picture of her wet clothing. All-in-all, I'm glad I took her some fresh clothes, because her poor little legs and feet were just ice cold. What a day, already?!!!! :-)

How funny! That's good for you that she cracks so easily under pressure!
