The Petroglyphs!!!

About a week ago, Nicki and I went "exploring". I was trying to find something neat for the two of us to do... and came across Petroglyph National Monument. It was definitely more physically demanding than I'd expected... lol... but it was a lot of fun! It was my first real hike, as well as Nicki's!

The first picture is right outside the Visitor's Center, where we later found out had been the interest of a 4' long rattlesnake!!! WOW! I'm glad we weren't there when he decided to visit there! :)

The second picture is of the hill that we hiked up. There are petroglyphs all along the way, but the picture is quite deceiving... It's actually pretty steep. lol It was a great little workout.

When we finally made it to the top of the hill, we were rewarded with a pretty view of the area around us, as well as a much needed breeze. We stopped to rest for a bit and then trekked back down.

And the final picture is of Nicki when she was just laying out on my bed afterwards. LOL Needless to say, she was a little bit tuckered out! :) Yay!! Mom-1, Kid- 0 WooHoo!
